We track the local rules that stop or stall your projects — moratoriums, permanent bans, and proposals still in motion. Nothing enters the dataset on a news story, a rumor, or someone else's database. A record earns its place only through the government's own paper: the law as filed with the town or state, or the official minutes of the meeting that took the action. The methodology by which we locate, corroborate and re-verify records is unique to MoraSource; a record is published only after it has cleared that process in full.
Every record carries a confidence grade (HIGH / MEDIUM / LOW) and the sweep that last confirmed it; every active ban links straight to the law itself. Towns that are moving but haven't adopted anything yet remain in the watch register, each with its own next-check date.
